I’ve been very excited to share with you all the next installment in the Hometown Tour series, and it’s finally here! If you missed the first tour with Shauntel from Charlotte, be sure to check it out here.
This is the first time our tour has stopped in Oklahoma City, and I wanted to see what the locals see — even though I don’t have enough time to explore. That’s where Allyson Noriega comes in… she’s going to be our local tour guide! Ally’s fashion blog, Allyson in Wonderland, is fantastic, and I just knew she’d be the perfect person to show us around her incredible city.
After seeing OKC through Ally’s eyes, I can’t wait to come back when I have a little more time to enjoy everything the city has to offer.
Hi everyone, my name is Ally Noriega and I’m a fashion, travel, and lifestyle blogger over at Allyson in Wonderland. I’m SO excited to show you around some of my favorite places in Oklahoma City. Lately our city has been enjoying a resurgence with many new restaurants, hotels, and revitalized districts. Today I’ll take you on a small tour around my hometown.
One thing you must know about me is that I’m a huge lover of coffee. Some mornings I love to set up shop at Okay Yeah and have a cappuccino and one of their delicious hand tarts. (Basically, a homemade pop tart!) What makes this so special, besides how good it is, is that it also shares a space with a darling plant shop. The Plant Shoppe sells succulents, hosts terrarium workshops, creates beautiful arrangements and weddings. It’s truly a unique space!
After your coffee you might want to head over to one of the most “Instagrammable” neighborhoods, known as the growing Plaza District. It features colorful murals, restaurants, local shops, and the nationally-recognized Lyric Theatre.
Since I’m a fashion blogger I must talk about the best shopping area. For upscale shopping I always suggest checking out the Classen Curve / Nichols Hills Plaza. It’s home to some of the best boutiques in the city. Be sure to check out Liberte, CK&Co, On A Whim, and Balliets.
Also you can’t leave without going to get a cupcake at Green Goodies. They are the best in the city!
As for where to stay when you’re in town, 21c Museum Hotel is unlike any hotel you will have ever seen. It’s a hotel that also happens to have over 14,000 square feet of museum space, and it’s open 24 hours a day! Along with the contemporary art pieces, they have a spa and Mary Eddy’s Kitchen x Lounge which is always so good. It’s a fun place to meet friends for dinner and then browse the art afterward. I’m so proud to have it in my city!
I hope you enjoyed this mini tour of some of the neighborhoods, shops, and restaurants that make OKC great. To see more of my city, fashion, and travels pics check out my blog Allyson in Wonderland or my Instagram and say hi. Hope to hear from you!
