DIY Hand Treatment

This two-step treatment will leave your hands looking, smelling, and feeling divine for days to come. The winter months can be really tough on all your skin, but your hands can sometimes get the brunt of those dry, cold and windy days.

• 2/3 cup of sugar
• 2 tablespoons liquid hand soap
• 1 teaspoon coconut oil
• optional: essential oils

First, you’ll create a cleansing scrub.

Mix 2/3 cup of sugar with 2 tablespoons of liquid hand soap. (With this amount, you’ll have enough for 4-6 treatments.) If you’re feeling fancy, add a few drops of peppermint or lavender oil. The consistency should be thick and gritty. Set to the side.

With clean hands, apply one teaspoon of coconut oil into your palm. If the coconut oil is in a solid form, liquefy it by rubbing your hands together. Massage the oil into your hands, paying special attention to your cuticles and any dry areas.

Next, add a dollop of the cleansing scrub. Gently exfoliate all over for about one minute.

Rinse with warm water. Pat dry with a clean towel.

Enjoy your super smooth and happy hands!

  1. This sounds like it could be an all over body scrub – maybe substituting coconut oil for jojoba or almond oil!

  2. Just made it! SO nice! I needed this desperately because I live in Michigan and my hands have been so sore, cracked, and dry! Thank you!!! xo
