All About My Kitchen!
I have gotten lots of questions in my “Ask Jules” inbox about my home décor, but the room I’m most excited about (currently) is my kitchen! I’ve been having some super fun dinner parties and I have found myself actually looking forward to cooking dinner as much as possible. It’s amazing what a difference having a space you love can make! Check out this question from Kellyanne and get the scoop on all my kitchen secrets below.
I was hoping you would do another home décor post for your Ask Jules section! Every time you Instagram a picture in your kitchen I fall in love with it! Could you do a post on your favourite kitchen tools, the organization of it, or how you made it look so amazing?
Congratulations on your engagement, on your amazing success (I love coming to Move Live on Tour it’s so much fun!), and your breathtaking performance as Sandy on Grease Live!
P.S I loved Derek’s biography, I hope you write one soon!
Thank you for loving my kitchen as much as I do! I think it’s really important to be in love with this space since we end up spending so much time in it. I’m glad you brought up tools, too. I feel that when I’m excited about the tools I’m cooking with I am even more inspired to put them to use.
I keep vintage-inspired bottles on the shelf to give an unexpected pop of color in an area that might otherwise go unnoticed. It also balances the room in terms of color. To maintain a clean and sophisticated look, I suggest buying three items (candles, glassware, etc) of the same shade.
Trays are a great way to keep your countertop items contained to maintain a cleaner space, plus I love their look. They can add a three-dimensional element to your counters. Form and function! Who could resist?
My kitchen has elements of tradition mixed with modern. I wanted to incorporate a color and I went with this earthy blue because it isn’t overpowering. We kept things fun by bringing in a few eclectic pieces such as the pendant lights. Mixing metals such as bronze, silver and gold with various textures like linen and reclaimed wood gives off the fresh, youthful vibe I was going for. I wish I had two kitchens so I could decorate another one!
