These local guides have quickly become one of my very favorite series I’ve ever done. I have loved seeing each of these cities from a local’s perspective — it makes me want to travel more! After I’ve recovered from being on the road these last few months, of course.
Yesterday the MOVE Tour stopped in Phoenix, and even though I only had time to dance in and dance out, I asked Melissa Moore of Stylista Fitness to show us some of her favorite spots so I can live vicariously. I can’t wait to come back and see more of what Phoenix has to offer!
Hi, friends! My name is Melissa Moore, the blogger behind a Phoenix, AZ lifestyle blog called Stylista Fitness. If it’s your first time in Phoenix, I’m here to share my favorite spots to shop, have a bite to eat and get your beauty on.
Although, my original hometown is Los Angeles, Phoenix has been my home for the last twelve years. I’m proud to show you what we have to offer and give you a sneak peek to some cute places around town. As far as weather goes, summer can get pretty hot but the rest of the year is sunny and almost always in the 70s. Hope you enjoy the spots I picked out!
1. Favorite Cafe: Luci’s at the Orchard
We all know the best way to start the day touring a city is with coffee and food in your stomach. Luci’s at the Orchard is your picture perfect spot for this. Not only do they have an extensive breakfast and lunch menu, they have an outdoor open, airy space where you can enjoy your food.
On a hot day, my go-to is their iced chai tea latte with coconut milk. They have a full menu of drinks (even wine) and healthy smoothies. You honestly can’t go wrong with their menu! Everything is DELICIOUS! Continue Reading
Whenever I’m on the road, as much as I absolutely love being on tour, I can’t help but dream about sleeping in my own bed. I truly believe better sleep leads to better health, wellness, and overall living. Designing the perfect sleep environment is an absolute priority at home. It’s something I’ve been trying to recreate on the road with the assistance of several brilliant products.
And of course, I always make sure to check in on my FitBit Charge HR to track and monitor my sleep habits.
Below are my must haves from home and my on-the-road sleep solutions while on tour for MOVE Beyond.
HOW I GET MY BEST SLEEP AT HOME
1. (Don’t) Let There Be Light
Sleep experts say deep darkness is the key to a deep sleep. It’s important to shut off or cover any tiny lights from electronics and cover all windows with blackout curtains. Light, sheer curtains may look pretty during the day but they could result in dark circles under the eyes.
2. Sleep On It
Having a great mattress is of the utmost importance to me. Mattresses range from totally affordable to crazy expensive, but no matter what your budget when you find the one that’s right for you you can have the best sleep ever. Continue Reading
For National BFF Day, I want to take a moment to honor two of the VERY BEST FRIENDS I’ve ever had: my fur babies Lexi and Harley.
As almost any dog owner knows, they don’t call them “(wo)man’s best friend” for nothing. These pups have been with me through everything. They listen to my rants, know when I need to cuddle, and laugh at all my jokes (I mean, I can tell they’re laughing on the inside). Between the three of us, we make the perfect squad.
I’ve been very excited to share with you all the next installment in the Hometown Tour series, and it’s finally here! If you missed the first tour with Shauntel from Charlotte, be sure to check it out here.
This is the first time our tour has stopped in Oklahoma City, and I wanted to see what the locals see — even though I don’t have enough time to explore. That’s where Allyson Noriega comes in… she’s going to be our local tour guide! Ally’s fashion blog, Allyson in Wonderland, is fantastic, and I just knew she’d be the perfect person to show us around her incredible city.
After seeing OKC through Ally’s eyes, I can’t wait to come back when I have a little more time to enjoy everything the city has to offer.
Hi everyone, my name is Ally Noriega and I’m a fashion, travel, and lifestyle blogger over at Allyson in Wonderland. I’m SO excited to show you around some of my favorite places in Oklahoma City. Lately our city has been enjoying a resurgence with many new restaurants, hotels, and revitalized districts. Today I’ll take you on a small tour around my hometown. Continue Reading
When it comes to eating healthy on-the-go I’ve always believed it’s all about being well stocked with options. The problem I run into — and perhaps you’ve experienced the same — is those options seem so limited. I only have a handful of solid to-go snacks that I go to and as a result, just like most routines, eating the same thing gets boring! As a result, I sometimes stray from my nutrition plans.
Fortunately, there are expert snack-slayers like Lori Zanini, RD, and creator of the free 7 day meal plan, who has a whole arsenal of delicious and clean choices. Here, Lori shares a list of ideas that are sure to keep me happy and healthy on my journey to snack success!
How To Stay Healthy While Snacking On The Go
I frequently get asked how I make healthy food choices when I’m on the road. My strategy: always come prepared by packing some simple on the go snacks! Eating out for most meals, combined with a busy work schedule, can lead to making less than healthy choices while traveling. For me, packing snacks is a must, if I already have them on hand I’m less likely to go rogue. Here are some of my go-to foods when hunger hits on the road!
1. Single Serving Nut Butter Pack + A Piece of Fruit
My favorite on-the-go fruits are apples, pears, and bananas. Buying nut butters in single serving squeeze packs makes it easy to eat the correct portion size without any measuring or mess!
2. Homemade Trail Mix
I think the best combination is almond slivers, cashews, unsweetened dried cranberries or blueberries, dried coconut chips and a dash of cinnamon. Tip: make it in bulk before your trip and measure out your portions — about a ¼ cup for one serving — ahead of time in little jars or snack bags so you can grab and go each day.
3. Simple Avocado Tuna “Salad”
This is a great snack that makes more of a hearty on-the-go meal. Take ½ of a medium avocado and mash it with 3 oz. tuna (or salmon) packaged in water. Add a little bit of salt, pepper and cayenne or chili powder and enjoy! What makes this salad perfect for traveling? All of the ingredients can be kept at room temp until you are ready to whip it up! I’ve always had an interest in interior design, but it wasn’t until I started working on my dream home that it became a full-on passion. I partnered with creative genius Jake Arnold to make my visions a reality, and he really helped me achieve exactly what I had imagined. Together we created a sanctuary I still get excited to come home to.
The icing on the cake was having the honor of being featured in Better Homes and Gardens magazine! We’ve since received a ton of emails like the one below from Amy. I’m happy to help your design dreams come true — we should all have a sanctuary awaiting us after a long day away from home!
Ok, am I absolutely dying to know where you got/what fabric your pillow is on the cover of BH&G!! (The greenish/ blue one behind the Zak+Fox one)… I’ve been looking for a color like that everywhere and it’s always either too blue or too green and never quite right! I love its texture as well! Would love it if you could tell me about it :).
Like so many of you, the tragedy in Manchester has left me heartbroken. My whole heart goes out to those affected by this senseless act. As a performer, my biggest wish is for people to leave performances feeling exhilarated, excited, filled with joy and inspired. In this time of disappointment and sadness I’d like to encourage all of us to put extra effort into adding kindness and positivity into the world.
In support of Ariana Grande, her team, the community of Manchester, and in honor of those who have been affected by this awful situation, please find below a list of 20 ways to be the change you wish to see in the world.

Starting when I was 15, I had sharp pains in the lower part of my stomach and heavy bleeding during and between my periods. I saw a few doctors who said it was normal, so I assumed it was just part of being a woman. As a performer and entertainer, I’ve always had a high tolerance for pain, so I just pushed through and ignored it.
Then in 2008, while performing on Dancing with the Stars, I had a particularly bad “episode,” as I call them. I started experiencing horrible pain and bleeding, so much so that my mom (who luckily was there) insisted we go to the hospital. Right away, I met with my gynecologist and it was then I found that I had endometriosis. Continue Reading
I absolutely love this peanut butter cookie recipe sent to my Ask Jules inbox from Cherie! It’s called “The One” because all the ingredients measure out to one cup or one teaspoon.
It’s not only simple to make, the recipe itself is very clean — especially considering it’s for cookies. “The One” Cookie is gluten free, and if you source your ingredients right, it can also be completely organic.
I’m a fan of the high protein and healthy fats, too. Thanks for sharing, Cherie!
• 1 cup all natural peanut butter
• 1 cup turbinado or unbleached sugar
• 1 egg (or egg substitute if vegan)
• 1 tsp vanilla
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Mix all ingredients listed.
3. Roll into small balls.
4. Flatten with a fork.
5. Place on a greased cookie sheet and bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes.
Now that we’re in the full swing of MOVE Live On Tour, I thought it would be fun to have some talented local bloggers showcase the cities we’re dancing in. I couldn’t be more thrilled to feature Shauntel Greene of Beautique’d as our first official city guide!
Shauntel is the very best and her pictures make me want to extend our stay in her beautiful city! Hope you enjoy this as much as I did.
Take it away, Shauntel!
Hi there!! I’m Shauntel, blogger behind Beautique’d — a life, style and beauty blog based out of Charlotte, NC. If you have never been to Charlotte, then today is your lucky day because I’m showing you three of my favorite places to get the best coffee, take in the most amazing scenery and also find the cutest outfit!
Fun Fact about me: I was actually born in Germany, however I have called Charlotte home ever since I could remember. There is nothing that compares to the city that you grew up in, made memories in and now have the opportunity to thrive in your own element.
I love Charlotte for the gorgeous weather; its roots and history, sports (GO PANTHERS!) and so much more. This place is truly a gem, which I’m sure you will fall in love with at first visit. Below are some of my favorite places to check out if you are ever in town!
1. Favorite Boutique: KK Bloom
The boutique experience is like no other. Especially, in the South! I love finding boutiques with amazing customer service, which are always ahead of the trends, and deliver them in the most unique way. There are so many various boutiques in the Charlotte area, however, one of my favorites is KK Bloom, located off of Selwyn Avenue.
