How To Be The Best Dressed Wedding Guest

One of the many things I love about being styled by Anita Patrickson is that she identifies dresses that make me feel sexy, but are still tasteful and classy. One of the common misconceptions about dressing sexy is that it involves showing a lot of skin — I’ve learned it’s the illusion of those things that makes an outfit sexy. And the character of the woman wearing the clothes, of course!

Now that we are in the throes of wedding season, a lot of us are looking for that perfect wedding-guest dress. I’ve compiled some of my favorite looks that make for excellent wedding guest inspirations! Before you shop, inspect your invitation for dress code instructions to ensure you’re properly attired.

While my DWTS looks are definitely very glitz and glam, you can take a cue from the cut, color, or how we accessorized rather than mirroring the whole outfit. For example if you love the look of the turquoise sequin gown but you’re going to a beach wedding, look for the same shade of blue in something made from a more casual and beach-ready fabric.

PS: I bet you can’t guess which one of these beauties is only $45!

Definitely agree that there’s a difference between slutty/sexy and tasteful sexy. Such an important rule to remember when going to a wedding
