Steal My Emmys Style

It was an incredible honor and exciting moment for me to stand by the cast and crew for Grease: Live at the Emmys. Getting to be a part of such a fantastically talented group was so special to me, and winning four Emmy Awards was icing on the cake. With all the excitement surrounding the night, the question of what to wear was a big one. I absolutely love the Zuhair Murad dress I wore. I felt elegant, sexy, confident, and most importantly, like myself!

I was very lucky to have my friend and stylist Anita Patrickson find this stunning couture gown for my very special night. She’s kind of like a fairy godmother, come to think of it!

So many of you commented on my photos, wanting to know more details about the dress. A few mentioned people mentioned they love the look but don’t know how to pull off a white dress. Anita shares her story from that night and offers some great tips for getting your white gown on below.

To take this look down a few notches for a fancy brunch or dinner party, I found some beautiful pieces that have a similar style in white and nude. If you “steal” my style, let me know by tagging! I want to see!

Jules and I fell in love with the dress the second we put it on! The shoulders were so dramatic and unlike anything we’ve ever done before, paired with the delicate intricate beading, which made it feel soft and more feminine. It’s from Zuhair Murad’s Couture Collection, which for any fashion nerds out there like me, it’s like getting to play dress up with the most exquisite creation imaginable.

I think the sexiness of this dress comes from the fact that it still has the fashion elements of the cool shoulders and the long sleeves and the bright white and the sheer parts are only really obvious depending on the angle you catch Julianne in. Usually less is more with the sheer trend. Don’t over accessorize, pair everything else down and let that be the “star” of the show.

As Jules is engaged, we knew there would be a lot of bridal comparisons and so we tried to play that down by using the vintage feel of the dress and taking that one step further adding a pop of color. We accessorized with vintage Neil Lane ruby earrings and a big statement ring and added in the red lip.
