We all know we’re supposed to drink more water every day, but that’s easy to forget during your morning latte or when your BFF made too much sangria (is there even such a thing?). On the occasion you do remember to go for some classic H20, it’s nearly impossible to find something other than plastic bottles. Sure, you’ve quenched your thirst, but if you’re anything like me, you’ve replaced that feeling with guilt over not choosing a more eco-friendly option. Enter: Boxed Water.
Boxed Water is changing the game of convenient hydration. When their minimal-but-bold packaging first caught my eye, I had to know more. Turns out, Boxed Water is so much more than well-designed Instagram bait. Everything this water company does is about ultimate sustainability. The recyclable cartons are made using paper from well-managed forests, and they are partnered with the National Forest Foundation to make sure all forests keep growing.
As a part of their ReTree Project, Boxed Water plants Boxed Water plants trees for every social post, newsletter subscription and web store purchases. They have planted over half a million trees (!!!), and the number is increasing every second.
We all need to do our part to protect our planet, even if it’s something as small as recycling cartons. Drinking Boxed Water when I’m thirsty and on the road definitely makes me feel a little better about my carbon footprint. Continue Reading
Sometimes we need a little nudge or reminder to do the simplest yet most important things. Like drinking enough water throughout the day, for example. We all know how vital H2O is for your skin, muscles, kidneys, digestive tract and more. It has been recommended that we drink approximately at least eight glasses of water every day. Some days, I know I certainly sip more and other days I could definitely do a better job at hydrating.
I saw on inspirational supernova Amy Purdy’s Instagram post that she downs two glasses first thing in the morning. She does this to hydrate and wake up her digestive track, preparing it for coffee, tea, breakfast and more. I always try to remember to have a glass before every snack and meal but it doesn’t always work out. I’m not completely missing out on the benefits however since 20% of our fluid intake comes from natural foods like veggies and fruit. Continue Reading
Being on tour has been a perfect opportunity to collect inspirations and ideas for my new home. When I return to LA in a few months, I’ll begin to fill my blank space with furniture and accents. My goal is to select pieces that have personal meaning or remind me of a place I visited and admired.
New Orleans definitely got my design wheels spinning. I was in constant awe of the city’s approachable opulence. The blend of French, Spanish and African influences create such a dreamy, elaborate environment. It’s something I would love to recreate in parts of my grand manor… I mean, my house. 🙂
I took tons of pictures for my mood board of cast iron railings that decorate the balconies in the Quarter. I’d love to find an antique or vintage inspired one to hang on a wall, use as a headboard, or maybe cover a fireplace I also took pictures of the gas lights and lanterns, which would be beautiful in any backyard.
Speaking of the yard, NOLA’s lush, elaborate gardens got me thinking about my own. I’m into the idea of incorporating sculptures into the landscape. Also took note of the large pots and abundance of hanging plants.
I’m excited to share with you guys this great podcast I did recently with the awesome Lewis Howes. We had an incredible conversation about what I believe is the key to my success and lessons I’ve learned on my journey to where I am today. We also discussed my inspirations, motivations, disappointments and fears. It was definitely my most candid interview yet. It felt so good to be that vulnerable and real in an interview. I did a Facebook Q&A this morning and I can’t believe how many wonderful questions you all asked. I’m so grateful to have the best fans in the world! Here are 15 questions and answers from the session, edited slightly for website formatting.
Thank you to each and every person who took the time to send in a question. I wish I could have answered them all! I can’t wait to do it again. Continue Reading
At the end of every year, I take a look back and think about what I could have done better. At the end of 2014, I realized that not all of my ideas came to fruition. In fact, many of them didn’t even come close. I knew there were some changes I’d have to make in order to make this year a more productive one. Now that we are a few months into the year, I’m keeping myself accountable by checking in on my resolutions.
We can all be guilty of spreading ourselves too thin at times. That’s the way life goes! I never want to look back and say, “what if” or “I wish I had…” so I decided this year is going to be different. In order to accomplish more, I decided to focus on less. In other words, I’m trimming the fat. No, not that fat. The kind of excess that makes me feel much busier than I really am and therefore gets in the way of me making things happen. Continue Reading
While I love decorating, planning events and playing with my style, my true passion comes from an entirely different place. My mission in life is to celebrate the little things and spread light and joy, but most of all kindness. There are many wonderful anti-bullying campaigns out there, and I especially love what my friends at The Kind Campaign are achieving through all their hard work. The only way to actually stop bullying is to spread kindness!
Being kind comes from the heart. It means accepting people for who they are. So rather than create awareness, my goal for this part of my website is to create action. Continue Reading
