My honeymoon was the vacation of a lifetime. It’s been a wild summer, so having that time to relax and go on adventures was both incredible and inspiring. I have so many new ideas that came from just allowing my mind to wander. And, while I am so excited to jump back into everything, I also can’t let myself forget the importance of taking it easy every now and then. I think all of us can get caught up in the craziness of day-to-day life, but sometimes it seems impossible to take time off.
If you can’t get away, try bringing the vacation to you by transforming an area of your house into your own personal oasis. With all the awesome outdoor furniture and decor these days, you can easily turn your backyard into an unrecognizable dream land. Invite some friends over to sit around the fire pit or just chill with a glass of wine or a good book at the end of the day. Spend some time whenever you can to just let yourself chill and reflect on all the good things you have in your life!
It might not be exactly the same as an oceanside resort, but it’s just right outside your door!

A few months ago I asked the girls from E. Interiors to share their tips on designing the perfect space. I love their style and was thrilled to have them back again to talk about their new home office space! Even if you go to school or an office every day, it’s important to have a space in your home where you can sit down and really focus.
The E. Interiors’ office upgrade is so cute — I hope it inspires you to create the work space of your dreams!
Hey everyone! It’s Megan here, half of the mother/daughter design duo behind E. Interiors, and we are thrilled to be back here on Jules’ blog to share a recent office makeover I did for my own home.
I have gotten lots of questions in my “Ask Jules” inbox about my home décor, but the room I’m most excited about (currently) is my kitchen! I’ve been having some super fun dinner parties and I have found myself actually looking forward to cooking dinner as much as possible. It’s amazing what a difference having a space you love can make! Check out this question from Kellyanne and get the scoop on all my kitchen secrets below.
The other day, someone said something to me that really stuck. When we were ending our phone call they left me with, “Make it a great day!”
I’ve heard it before but for some reason this time it resonated with me. Typically people will say, “Have a great day!” but what does that really mean?
When it comes to clothes and accessories, I’ve got a pretty good idea as far what my personal style looks like. I can see a cute top from across the store and know, “That’s me!” But when it comes to furniture and decor, I’ve learned that my tastes are a little bit all over the place. As I prepare to decorate my new house, I’ve been collecting and collaging images to get a concise idea of what style best represents me. In fashion, designers often create a mood board to decide what themes, shapes and colors will inspire their upcoming collection. I’ve decided to take a note from the fashionistas and create a vision board to help navigate my plans for my casa.
Vision, inspiration or mood boards are a good practice for everyone whether you’re decorating, designing or not. Besides being fun, it’s a way to get in touch with your creative side and understand your likes and dislikes. It’s important to discover these things because it’s personal and what makes you, you. I’d like to not only walk into my closet, but also my home and think, “That’s me!”
March is kind of a funny month for home decorating. And I love me some decorations. Gone are the sparkling trees, colorful lights and happy imagery that took over my house not long ago. Everything suddenly goes back to the way it was – which isn’t a bad thing, but it’s just not the same. This month, I decided to keep the festive feeling alive by turning my home into a celebration of seasons changing.
Since it’s not quite winter and not yet spring, I chose shades of sunshine yellow! You can’t even use the word yellow without adding a ! It’s yellow!
