When my friend and hair stylist Riawna arrived to the Dancing With The Stars set last week we immediately burst into laughter.
She was wearing one of my favorite outfits — or, was I wearing hers? I can’t remember. Regardless, we were both wearing one-piece denim jumpers by Forever 21. Riawna and I obviously agree, one and done is the way to go!
A simple, stylish one piece is not only comfortable, it’s ridiculously convenient. You can forget about the stress of putting together an outfit when all you have to do is grab a few accessories and go.

Saying adios to summer means it’s time to start tucking away our sunshine-y wardrobe to make way for fall wear. (A moment of silence, please.) Before you do a total seasonal switch out, think about some of the pieces you’ve been wearing and how they can transition to cooler weather and warmer tones.
I’m not quite ready to let go of some of my favorite summer trends. Chokers have been all over the place lately, looking super cute with tank tops and breezy dresses. I’m keeping these little guys around for fall, pairing them with sweaters, collared shirts, denim jackets and more. Mixing and matching seasonal styles is the best way to keep your favorite summer looks around for a little while longer, and I’m definitely going to be taking advantage of this sneaky fashion tactic!
The chicest choice for a summer ensemble is most definitely the jumpsuit. A jumpsuit is the older, cool cousin to another favorite of mine, the romper (which is more casual). Jumpsuits are good for both work and play because they can easily stay with you from day to night. Not to mention getting ready with a one-
piece is a breeze given all you have left to do is accessorize.
Right now, all things off shoulder are taking over every best-dressed lady’s wardrobe. Off shoulder tops, rompers and dresses are the perfect transitional pieces for going from spring to summer and summer to fall. How? Glad you asked!
An off-shoulder top can be worn with a pair of jeans on a cool day or shorts when it’s warm. A shoulder-baring dress or romper can go great with both tall boots and summer sandals. I like to have a few basic shoulder-baring tops to mix and match with printed bottoms and accessories. A white eyelet top is a definite staple item in my closet. I’ve listed a few of my favorite picks below along with other great styles.
Are you all about the off-shoulder look?
For years the chevron pattern has been a consistent trend in fashion and home décor. I appreciate that it’s simple, chic, and playful all at once. Whether a black and white rug or multi-color cardigan, these stripes just say ‘good time’ to me!
Nail artist and industry expert Tracylee Percival created a cute take on chevron for our fingertips, and she’s sharing her step-by-step instructions here, just for us!
The shoe du jour is definitely the lace-up flat. These cute shoes have popped up everywhere and nearly every store carries their own versions. I am a major fan for many reasons — for one, this style can instantly elevate any outfit. For instance, if you’re wearing a basic tee and cropped jeans or shorts by adding a splash of fun with these shoes in one snap you’ve gone from blah to boom. Plus, they go with pretty much anything! I’d love to see them with a sun or peasant dress, any style of shorts, leggings, jeans… Actually, I can’t think of anything they wouldn’t go with.
Guys, I’m about to say something somewhat controversial. Here it goes. I love overalls. I freaking love overalls. They were my go-to look back in the day, and you know what? They still are!
Even though the styles have matured and fabrics are more refined, when I snap into a one piece it instantly feels very me. Perhaps it is part nostalgia or maybe it’s the simplicity of a throw-on-and-go wardrobe item. Either way, me + overalls = forever.
This season there are some insanely cute options out there. I’ve rounded up some of my favorites.
Like fashion, winter manicure colors are all about warmth. During the colder months I’ll sport a deep, dark red or an edgy, sharp black, but now that we are heading into a fresh and bright spring season, I am ready to switch things up. New York Fashion Week is obviously the indicator for fashion trends, but it’s also the best place to check out makeup and nail trends for the coming seasons.
When I think about fall fashion, I picture a whole lot of leather (or pleather). The buttery jackets, pants, backpacks and shift dresses come out in full force once the first fallen leaf hits the ground.
One trend I noticed happening a lot during New York Fashion Week was the use of leather hair accessories. I saw them wrapped around sleek, low ponytails, holding down tousled waves and pinning back both messy buns and tight chignons.
I love how leather accessories add an instant chicness to any do, whether it’s clean and classic or all over the place. No matter if you go for real of vegan leather, there are plenty of options out there.
Here are some of my favorite finds:
Ahhhh! I want all these!! Which one do you love?
One of my favorite trends featured on the runways during Fashion Week last month were the cute cut-out dresses and tops. I’ll definitely be scooping up some of those looks come spring but in the mean time I’m thinking why not get a head start on the trend and feature my shoulders for fall? A little online shopping journey lead me to some seriously chic pieces.
I could see most of these paired with a scarf, ankle boots, and skinny or boyfriend jeans!
