Travel In Style

I’m excited to introduce you all to Lauren Kay Sims, a fashion blogger with a unique style that I truly love. Her looks are always incredibly put together and sophisticated without being inaccessible or over the top, which is right up my alley for day-to-day style.

I asked her to share her tips for traveling in style — just in time for Spring Break! So no matter where you’re going or how you’re getting there, Lauren has some ideas to keep you looking and feeling your best on your journey.

Hey ya’ll! Lauren Sims here from laurenkaysims.com. I am beyond excited and honored to be posting for Julianne Hough today! I’ve been a major fan of Julianne (and her hair!) for as long as I can remember, so this is truly an honor for me to be featured on her website today.

A little bit about me: I’m Texas girl who loves all things fashion and fitness, plus my husband of two years now and our golden retriever, Beau. With spring break around the corner, I wanted to talk to ya’ll today about how to travel in style!

I don’t know about you but whenever I’m packing for a trip, the thing I struggle with the most is what to wear on the airplane. You want to look cute, but obviously need to be comfortable. This look I’m sharing with you today accomplishes both of those things, plus you’ll be able to wear these pieces during your trip as well!

First travel essential for traveling in style (if you’re not going the sweatpants route): comfortable denim. Yes, it does exist. This pair of distressed white skinny jeans is my absolute favorite (and they’re under $100)! They are semi high-waisted which I think is super flattering + comfortable, and they have just the right amount of stretch so you won’t feel restricted on the airplane.

When traveling, it’s so important that you travel in layers! You never know how cold the airplane will be, so a great denim jacket is another essential. I love this hooded denim jacket because the sleeves are knit, so you don’t feel claustrophobic in it like a lot of denim jackets can make you feel!

Probably the most important piece for traveling in style: shoes. You need shoes that are comfortable, yet easy to slip on and off for security at the airport, or for chilling in the car, if you’re driving! I cannot tell you how obsessed I am with this Everlane street shoe. It’s the kind of shoe you can walk around in all day and your feet still feel great, and they’re super easy to get on and off in seconds! (Heads up though: they do run a little small, so go up a half size!)

Hope this post gives you some ideas for your next airplane or road trip outfit! I’d love for you to follow me along on the blog and/or Instagram @laurenkaysims for more of a peak into my life + style!
