These local guides have quickly become one of my very favorite series I’ve ever done. I have loved seeing each of these cities from a local’s perspective — it makes me want to travel more! After I’ve recovered from being on the road these last few months, of course.
Yesterday the MOVE Tour stopped in Phoenix, and even though I only had time to dance in and dance out, I asked Melissa Moore of Stylista Fitness to show us some of her favorite spots so I can live vicariously. I can’t wait to come back and see more of what Phoenix has to offer!
Hi, friends! My name is Melissa Moore, the blogger behind a Phoenix, AZ lifestyle blog called Stylista Fitness. If it’s your first time in Phoenix, I’m here to share my favorite spots to shop, have a bite to eat and get your beauty on.
Although, my original hometown is Los Angeles, Phoenix has been my home for the last twelve years. I’m proud to show you what we have to offer and give you a sneak peek to some cute places around town. As far as weather goes, summer can get pretty hot but the rest of the year is sunny and almost always in the 70s. Hope you enjoy the spots I picked out!
1. Favorite Cafe: Luci’s at the Orchard
We all know the best way to start the day touring a city is with coffee and food in your stomach. Luci’s at the Orchard is your picture perfect spot for this. Not only do they have an extensive breakfast and lunch menu, they have an outdoor open, airy space where you can enjoy your food.
On a hot day, my go-to is their iced chai tea latte with coconut milk. They have a full menu of drinks (even wine) and healthy smoothies. You honestly can’t go wrong with their menu! Everything is DELICIOUS! Continue Reading
I’ve been very excited to share with you all the next installment in the Hometown Tour series, and it’s finally here! If you missed the first tour with Shauntel from Charlotte, be sure to check it out here.
This is the first time our tour has stopped in Oklahoma City, and I wanted to see what the locals see — even though I don’t have enough time to explore. That’s where Allyson Noriega comes in… she’s going to be our local tour guide! Ally’s fashion blog, Allyson in Wonderland, is fantastic, and I just knew she’d be the perfect person to show us around her incredible city.
After seeing OKC through Ally’s eyes, I can’t wait to come back when I have a little more time to enjoy everything the city has to offer.
Hi everyone, my name is Ally Noriega and I’m a fashion, travel, and lifestyle blogger over at Allyson in Wonderland. I’m SO excited to show you around some of my favorite places in Oklahoma City. Lately our city has been enjoying a resurgence with many new restaurants, hotels, and revitalized districts. Today I’ll take you on a small tour around my hometown. Continue Reading
Now that we’re in the full swing of MOVE Live On Tour, I thought it would be fun to have some talented local bloggers showcase the cities we’re dancing in. I couldn’t be more thrilled to feature Shauntel Greene of Beautique’d as our first official city guide!
Shauntel is the very best and her pictures make me want to extend our stay in her beautiful city! Hope you enjoy this as much as I did.
Take it away, Shauntel!
Hi there!! I’m Shauntel, blogger behind Beautique’d — a life, style and beauty blog based out of Charlotte, NC. If you have never been to Charlotte, then today is your lucky day because I’m showing you three of my favorite places to get the best coffee, take in the most amazing scenery and also find the cutest outfit!
Fun Fact about me: I was actually born in Germany, however I have called Charlotte home ever since I could remember. There is nothing that compares to the city that you grew up in, made memories in and now have the opportunity to thrive in your own element.
I love Charlotte for the gorgeous weather; its roots and history, sports (GO PANTHERS!) and so much more. This place is truly a gem, which I’m sure you will fall in love with at first visit. Below are some of my favorite places to check out if you are ever in town!
1. Favorite Boutique: KK Bloom
The boutique experience is like no other. Especially, in the South! I love finding boutiques with amazing customer service, which are always ahead of the trends, and deliver them in the most unique way. There are so many various boutiques in the Charlotte area, however, one of my favorites is KK Bloom, located off of Selwyn Avenue.
According to my Ask Jules inbox, there are many of you who want to know what I tote around everyday in my bag. When I’m zooming around town, I like to be prepared for anything — whether it’s jotting down an idea, fixing a sweet tooth or rewarding my dogs (for being the best ever, of course.)
So here’s what you’d find if you emptied out my everyday purse: Continue Reading
Ask and you shall receive! Many of you have requested in the comments (yup, I read em!) to see what it looks like backstage and behind the scenes of a MOVE performance. Lucky for you, we just wrapped a show at the world famous Grand Ole Opry in Nashville!
It’s a great honor to get to perform at the iconic Opry. Since 1925 the stage has seen performers like Patsy Cline, Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire, the Dixie Chicks and even a young Elvis Presley! The feeling you get when standing on a stage with so much history is indescribable.
Our day off in Orlando, Florida, can be summed up in one word: MAGIC! As in Magic Kingdom, that is. That’s right, we went to Disney World! It rained like crazy the whole time so we had to wear massive ponchos all day. We look hilarious in all our pictures! We didn’t let the downpour rain on our parade, though, the MOVE dancers and I screamed through Space Mountain, giggled through the jungles of the Animal Kingdom and even stopped to say hello to Minnie and Mickey.
None of us had ever had turkey leg like these. Thankfully we caught our first bites on camera! Continue Reading
When I’m on tour, I take the few days I have off very seriously! I like to eat, drink and do as many things as the city we’re visiting has to offer. Last week in Austin, I definitely did just that.
I started my morning at Hillside Farmacy, a quirky restaurant that supports local farmers for their farm-to-table feasts. The space used to be a pharmacy in the 1950s, hence the name. They cleverly use vintage prescription bottles as salt and pepper shakers! The original rich wood cabinets, artsy murals, tile work and crystal doorknobs create an authentically-worn-in warmth. My fried egg sandwich (avocado, aioli, sprouts, fried green tomato) was off-the-charts delicious! Continue Reading
And we’re off! The MOVE Live On Tour is officially en route and heading to some great cities this week! Phoenix, Albuquerque, Midland and Austin — we’re coming for you!
I love being on tour because it means I get to sample something special from every city. I won’t have a ton of time in between shows, so I’m hoping you all could steer me in the right direction as far as where to grub, shop and see while I’m passing through!
There are so many historical and cultural hot spots surrounding Albuquerque; I have no idea where to start. Any ideas? I know Austin is jam packed with awesome being that it’s all about music and food. So many choices! Help a girl out! I’ll let you know where we end up…
